Buffalo Bills Face Injury Challenges During First Week of Training Camp

Pittsford, N.Y. – The Buffalo Bills have encountered several injury concerns during their initial week of training camp at St. John Fisher University, though most setbacks appear to be minor rather than severe.

A key worry surrounds their first-round draft pick, cornerback Max Hairston, who sustained a right leg injury during practice on Tuesday. Hairston, who is competing with Tre’Davious White for the starting cornerback position opposite Christian Benford, was attended by head athletic trainer Nate Bresky while teammates looked on. The exact nature and severity of Hairston’s injury remain unclear.

Despite Hairston’s injury, Tre’Davious White showcased exceptional performance during a goal-line one-on-one passing drill. White successfully shut down wide receivers Joshua Palmer and Keon Coleman, intercepting a pass intended for Palmer and deflecting a catch attempt by Coleman near the end zone. Meanwhile, Palmer and Coleman managed to score touchdowns against other defensive players, and newly signed wide receiver Deon Cain faced challenges against cornerback Dane Jackson.

Additional Injury Updates

The injury list has expanded with tight end Dalton Kincaid and wide receiver Elijah Moore returning to practice on Tuesday. Offensive linemen Mike Edwards and Alec Anderson remain sidelined, the former due to heat-related issues and the latter with a knee injury. Wide receiver K.J. Hamler also continues to recover from heat-related symptoms, and defensive tackle DeWayne Carter is currently out due to illness. Defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi was given a veteran rest day as part of the team’s recovery protocol.

What’s Next for the Buffalo Bills

Following a scheduled day off on Wednesday, the Bills will resume practice on Thursday at 9:45 a.m. at St. John Fisher University. On Friday, they will hold an open practice session titled “Return of the Blue and Red” at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
